Being quite close to the coast, our floods are short and sharp. The creeks rise quickly and drain rapidly. In the recent deluge, the creeks peaked at near record highs and the sheer force of water has meant not only are flood crossings washed but also many fence posts, gate posts and the like. It is not all bad though, as plenty of lantana has been swept out as well!
While Rob is sweating it out, pulling wire out of debris and restanding posts, the kids and I have been providing support….like freshly baked cakes delivered to the workplace.
Picnics in the creek beds, beside trickling streams is a pleasant change of scenery, as long as you have a bottle of insect repellent in hand.
Eliza has been practicing and perfecting her crawling “Eliza” style.

Now this baby has been moving about for a couple of months and she has modified her style a little….not needing her hands at all now!
She is quick and purposeful and terrain doesn’t usually stand in her way

Unless it is very rocky and uphill….

I must say she doesn’t give up easily but in this instance

the lure of the water bottle was a much better option than climbing to the top of the creek bank.

At this stage, she is certainly not difficult to track!!

    Dear Ainsley,

You blog is blissful. Your photos and the words woven around them are such a privilege. And so beautiful. (And Eliza is edibly gorgeous!)

You make me homesick! – in the nicest way.
