The past 12 days have had us all outside our designated and familiar roles, so today, as life returns to normal, and Adelaide recuperates from her ordeal, we celebrated the work we do!
And I don’t think anyone is more relieved to be back in the role of head stockmanperson than Tess…
So with only 4 days remaining until she returns to University some 850 kilometres away, the mustering resumed.
Rob spent the duration of Adelaide’s hospital stay in the ward with her, so I think today he somehow enjoyed the familiarity of dust and sweat and the company of cows. The wheel of life, which had momentarily paused, was now turning again.
For Andrew, the delight of having Mum, Dad & Adelaide home soon faded, as he realised that his chores hadn’t miraculously disappeared…
Nor had Hamish learnt how to get his shoes on and laces tied!!
I’m sure he wishes that Hamish would find an easier pair of boots to put on like Adelaide!?
Now that we’re all back on track, I’m certainly relishing the summer season…..there is just no place better than home.
