Today is the “hump” day of mini school. For little children unaccustomed to mainstream school routines it can be exhausting. There are mates to catch up with, conversations to be had and playgrounds to be conquered as well as lessons to be learned.
Being outdoorsy, bush kids you can also imagine that our 2 bedroom abode is becoming a little constrained. I am sure my lovely neighbors are noticing that we are bursting at the seams.
As a side note, the resident possum has vacated for the week. Far too noisy……
With after school athletics cancelled due to wet weather, and ABC Kids fast losing appeal, it was time to stretch legs, burn some steam and get dirty.
And what better place than the Botanic Gardens………Armed with my iPhone and and a few new photo apps to play with, I snapped away!
Eliza took great delight in stretching her body on the lawn and watching the leaves.
Adelaide let the wind blow in her hair as she rode the stationary bike at lightening speed.
Hamish was loving the thrill of swinging at dare-devil heights!
Lachlan preferred the sandpit…
While Andrew practiced on the flying fox before directing the sand and gravel business.
This expedition worked a treat as we gather ourselves for another 2 days of learning. Tonight they are fast asleep with no jostling over beds or pillows….
Rob will be relieved to know that with 5 little children and lots of learning for Home Tutors, there has been literally NO time for shopping – apart from a Click & Collect from Coles to feed the troupes!

we face the same issues when going to the coast, and we only have three! while mum and dad are exhausted from running around doing ‘stuff’ the kids are all hyped up, so we normally take them to the strand and let them loose…nothing like a bit of sea air to work up an appetite AND make them sleep well!

sure you cant squeeze in a small visit to the shops? seems a crime that you are in town and can’t!
