School’s out for the Easter break. It’s a change of pace that I think we all enjoy.
With the kids getting bigger and hungrier, the kitchen has been a hive of activity and the dishwasher is running around four times a day.
Tess was home for the four days of Easter.
That provided a great opportunity to get some cattlework goals kicked.
Our incentive for keeping the team working on Easter Sunday morning was the lure of burning off all the sugar contained in the Easter eggs that were waiting in the fridge.
It wasn’t all work and no play though. We adventured into the foothills of the range in the back paddock to enjoy the serenity of our surrounds and have a picnic lunch.
The landscape provided for an interesting Easter egg hunt, ‘we’re all going on a bear hunt’ came to mind!
After Tess’s return to her ‘real’ job, we welcomed James to the team. He has joined us for a week’s work experience on his school holidays. While I think he may have been a little saddle sore after the first day …..
and perhaps questioning our early starts …..
I’m pretty confident he’s had a fantastic time.
While holidays are full of adventure and fun, there is certainly a lot to be said for the good old ‘staycation’.
Home is certainly where our heart is.
