Today we participated in our district Cross Country.

The sun belted down on the St Lawrence Wetlands, making for unpleasantly hot running conditions. The kids guzzled water and were coated in both sunscreen and determination to do their best.

This year, Lachlan had to run 2000m.

He pushed through the pain barrier to come a formidable second place.

Hamish was super excited to participate ….. he’s been mentally preparing all week.

He ran the race with a smile ……..

…… on his face.

And was rewarded for his efforts with a second place.

Adelaide was also excited to be participating.

She is quite a determined little soul

and was keen to give the race her best go.

For the first half, she certainly did that, running alongside a little classmate.

Unfortunately, on the homeward leg, she tripped and came to grief on the very hard gravel track.

With the aide of a race steward, she picked herself up, dusted herself off ……

and ran on to come second in the 500m with a gravel crashed nose and knee.

She really is a very determined little soul ……
