Well Term One Minischool is over and we are home refreshed and rejuvenated for our next Unit of school work. I’m feeling a little more refreshed as we have employed the help of a delightful young girl to assist with school (and “preschool”) for the next few weeks. A welcome change for a short while..

Today was a good day in school; when comparing notes with my fellow Home Tutors we often talk of our days as “good” or “bad”; funny that there doesn’t seem to be much in between! Poor little Lachlan did have one teary session as we embraced Participants, Processes & Circumstance in our Simple Sentence. The Year One curriculum has certainly expanded my knowledge of grammar….Personally, I am a traditional grammar graduate so functional grammar is my new study!

The kids are back into the routine of their chores. Chooks to feed, eggs to collect, chickens to move, pigs to hose out. It is all quite exhausting some days………

Amongst the school, some fencing and mustering, a grazing workshop and a day out for Dad at the cricket, we are busily preparing for Eliza Kate’s Christening.

The few showers of rain last week have spruced the lawn up no end – I’m hoping someone from above is reading my post and would deliver another shower of rain this week, just to keep things fresh prior to the weekend!

There is something about freshly mowed grass………and the cool of the afternoon breeze. The kids are loving soccer at the moment.

With a great bunch of family and friends coming to share Eliza’s Special Day with us, my thoughts have turned to food. I am currently stocking the freezer with cookies. We’ve already used copious amounts of butter and chocolate chips – at last count we have 90 made plus a few “ill shaped” ones for our own consumption.

My in-house weatherman had indicated we were in for a wet week, but think he now may have changed his mind. Hopefully a rogue shower finds you.
The house and lawns look amazing.

agree with Fiona, love the manicured lawns AND the house with the huge verandah…I’m going to ask you for a garden tour too (while its all prettied up for the big event!) nothing like a heap of visitors to get the place extra ship shape. Love that Adelaide wears her brothers hand me downs….and Eliza’s jumpsuit? just adorable…what is it about baby girls clothing?!

wouldn’t mind a shower here too, I keep putting off watering as every day it looks like it might shower, I guess one way of guaranteering we will get inches is to start intensively sprinklering the lawn!
