Lots of learning in eKindy happens in real life instances. This week, Adelaide & Hamish’s learning included a little about education hierarchy in Queensland for they had the opportunity to show the Honourable John-Paul Langbroek how kindy is delivered for rural and remote kindy age children in Queensland.
Miss Danielle has been a household name here for the past seven months so it was very exciting to finally meet her in real life. After a little “in person” fun, Miss Danielle then simulated an ekindy web lesson and  Hamish & Adelaide participated as they would in their home environment…..through a telephone and web conference session. The lesson started with a welcome poem, followed by a rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. There were sheep to colour, a story to share and of course some play dough and a butterfly dress up. All directed via  elluminate (web conference platform).

All of this occurred with the Education Minister in class. He took the time to participate from both sides…
Of course, the learning for Hamish & Adelaide didn’t stop with the formal kindy lesson. I gave Hamish, Adelaide and Eliza (and of course Dad), a refresher on power shopping. Will have to work on their stamina though!!
Eliza was the frequent flyer able to offer advice to her siblings. Like how to work the tray table and fasten your seatbelt.
I’m sure the highlight of the trip away for Hamish, was the flight. At 28000 feet, he looked out the window and exciteably said, “I can see the whole entire world from up here!”

Rob and I both enjoyed the time spent with the smallest members of our family and thank Grandma & Grandad for supervising Andrew & Lachlan doing some school and of course emptying the rain gauge at Mystery Park…

For those who know Adelaide well, you will know what she took to Brisbane in her bag….
Cows and horses, of course!

ack, the spammers have found you. Adelaide always looks so concerned about life! My kids were also very excited about their first plane flight last year, they all seemed very loud though (are all bush kids loud?!)

What a great educational experience for the Honourable John-Paul Langbroek to actually see how it is all done! I hope the NT ‘hierarchy’ are taking note, we have a 3.5 year old that I would love to enrol in e-kindy!

@Sharon I’m hoping all bush kids are loud…. We are turning our city kids into bush kids this month and they are known for being loud!!

I trust your children would have endeared themselves to Mr Langbroek just as they do anybody else who has the pleasure to meet them.
