……has been and gone.
The first school “cluster” for the year and Hamish’s first week of classroom learning. Poor Hamish, I didn’t give his first outing in the school uniform, with a back pack and cut lunch much thought. That was until he asked, as he was about to walk in the school gate, “Are you sure I’m old enough to go to school? Am I big enough?”
It was a very wet week in Central Qld, meaning that any scheduled outdoor play or afternoon activities were cancelled. These little people caught a mild case of cabin fever. I did try to alleviate the symptoms by taking them for a walk/jog although we do need to work on our street savviness…..
Aside of the weather, again minischool has provided these little people with some great learning opportunities. Highlights, as recorded around our dinner table on Friday night, include dissecting a sheep’s brain (Year 2), hosting the Children’s cafe and being a Master Chef (Prep) and making an animation (Year 5).
Adelaide didn’t have a highlight…when you are three it is all good fun!
One thing is for certain though, the best part of minischool week is returning home. Exhausted, satisfied, content and so glad that you live in the country.
