Our winter days are glorious at present. The grey clouds have parted and we are enjoying sunny days and cool, crisp evenings. I think the green grass, unusual for this time of year, gives us a healthy perspective.
Our schoolroom misses the morning sun so we decided to brighten our start to the school day with some warm up activities on the verandah! It takes a while to get everybody excited…
Hamish is engaging in the eKindy program,
creating masterpieces for Miss Danielle…
We attempted to make slime this week, unfortunately it ended badly or should I say messily?

After school activities have included property maintenance..

Like all good Council jobs, we had supervisors and overseers…
and one man on a shovel….

Looking at the discarded boots, I guess it was a good thing that the Workplace, Health & Safety Officer had the day off!
Has even been time for a little footy…

And for the record, Eliza now has two teeth!

    Dear Ainsley,

Ali here, writing from Geneva Switzerland, originally from Melbourne, to say: Your blog makes me homesick in the most lovely ways. I read you and absorb your photos to fill my need for good Aussie values, openness, making the best out of the day, Aussie trees, and that “je ne sais quoi” something or other about Australian light.

Summary: If you could bottle it, I would buy it.

I have family out back of Longreach, and your wonderful titbits of stories and photos (not to mention the loveliness of the kids) make me specifically long for that.

Lovely, lovely, lovely. Wishing you every happiness,
    Ali

Streaker alert on the footy field!
Poor Andrew, taking a little while to get excited about morning activities … I often look just the same.
Beautiful photos as always. Haven’t the days been gorgeous!
