…….was wheely successful for all!
First stop on the road trip was a night with my sister and her family. A visit to the home of Signature Beef is always inspiring. The hospitality is second to none as well. Late lunch included pastrami (a delicatessen type meat) that was brined, seasoned, smoked and steamed by Blair without any use of nitrate. One word, DELICIOUS! The afternoon was spent inspecting cows and their babes while the boy cousins scattered, returning some time later with  a red claw haul. The girl cousins sought out the horse paddock and the broodmares. Much planning and dealing occurred here! After perusing the vegie garden we sat down to a OP Rib encrusted with Rosemary with some fresh mud crab (transported from the coast!) and red claw.
We continued our journey further North the next day, to arrive for lunch at Mum & Dad’s. Imagine the delight and surprise when the boys saw this buggy in the driveway adorned with Christmas decorations and a sign saying “Merry Christmas McArthur kids, Love Grandma & Grandad”!!
It was lovely to return “home” for a short visit. Although dry, the cattle still looked well.
The grandkids helped feed a couple of poddies (orphan calves) in between doing laps of the house paddock in the new beast.

The final and longest leg of the journey included collection of another Christmas type gift. One my husband has purchased for himself….secondhand mind you!

On reflection, this Christmas road trip was very themed. Right down to the flat tyre I got only 10km from home…..
Eliza is not quite as excited as her siblings about buggies and bobcats but she is practicing her driving never the less. (And she is also checking to see her spare tyre is pumped up…)

well you got close to my neck of the woods, what a big trip! and how lucky that there was room in the truck in front of the bob cat for the buggy…the horses might get their noses out of joint (or heave a sigh of relief?!) with the arrival of the buggy!

Eliza seems very pleased with her set of wheels non the less!
