As we struggle to settle back into the routine of school (both Mum & children), my morning’s are filled with questions about, “What is Dad doing today?”
The freedom of school holidays has dwindled to freedom after school is complete for the day.

Now yesterday the boys noticed Dad in the shed sharpening blades and servicing chainsaws……and this could mean only one thing. He would be cutting fenceposts tomorrow.

Dad is puzzled to know what is so appealing about itchy sawdust, sweat and sore back. Maybe the naivety of youth??

So after the school bell rang, the students headed straight past the swings, sandpit and cricket pitch and out the gate to find Dad.

As I snuck down with the camera, the fascination with “cutting posts” was unveiled. The canopy of the tree, now fallen on the ground, provides the perfect framework for a good old bush cubby!

Don’t let the rustic bush kid exterior fool you – they had iPods in their pockets with a movie loaded for later viewing in their shelter….

cute kids…mine have begged dad to help them build a cubby with some tin down the flat, dad has suggested that we best wait until after storm season has passed (and the chance of a windstorm blowing sheets of cubby roof away!)

how are you faring with the new curriculum? and baby and toddler in the school room?!
