Recently we have shared a little of what is involved in running a beef grazing business with a delightful vet student from the James Cook Uni in Townsville.
Hannah has just completed her first year and course requirements dictate that she must spend 10 days placement in the beef industry.
It was great to share some of our philosophy, knowledge and work with Hannah. Days were spent repairing and rebuilding flood crossings, shifting cattle according to grazing plans, weaning some calves, removing bulls from maiden heifers and repairing and rebuilding more flood fences.
Of course there were smokos and swims beside the creeks while rebuilding and repairing flood fences….
Hats off to her, as she immersed herself in our noisy, chaotic family. It was an absolute pleasure to have her stay and we wish her a bright and happy future in the veterinary world.

What a lucky girl to get an opportunity to spend a couple of weeks with a family like yours…I am sure she has taken a whole lot more away with her than she expected.
