Andrew is growing fast, easily seen by the top of his boots poking out from the hem of his jeans.
This holidays we decided to introduce him to a new horse (an old horse of Tess’s!) – a hand me down really..this means his horse will be handed down to Lachlan and Lachlan’s horse will go down to Hamish and Hamish’s horse will be passed onto Adelaide…Phewww….
The trial run in front of the house went well…
and he seemed happy with his new steed.
Had to have the obligatory photo, from the verandah of course!
First job was to tail the fresh weaners, taken from their mothers a few days ago, out.
Although they have been eating some grassy lucerne hay in the yards, they were still hungry for the “real” deal – some fresh Callide Rhodes grass, with a smattering of pangola through it.
These calves hardly lifted their heads…
Apart from an occasional glance to check the “out of bounds” areas.
They were so settled that the troupes got a little bored and decided to dismount.
Hamish had spotted some ripe grapefruit to collect.
And Eliza was looking for a cuddle from Tess…
Only one more sleep until she heads back to the big smoke….
